The
recent tragic event of Hurricane Katrina has no doubt touched all of us
in one way or another. The devastation and loss of life is sobering and
our first instinct is to reach out and assist in any way possible.
Bishop Edward Kmiec has asked all parishes to conduct special
collections. This is a teachable moment for all families and I would
invite you to decide as a family how you might contribute to this
effort. The Sisters of St. Francis will be contributing through
Catholic Charities. Rather than duplicate or place additional burdens
on families we will not coordinate any fundraising through the school.
Of course, we will incorporate this event in our teaching and most
especially in our prayers and worship.
