Students may enter in
teams of 2 or 3, or as individuals. Students should do the work on the
project. Parents or others may advise, encourage, inspire and even
demonstrate how to do something. The students must construct and perform
the project themselves. Journals or log books, graphs and charts are also
encouraged. Students should write a one to two page summary of their
project to show and use when talking to the judges. Projects are
presented informally and students discuss their finding with the judges.

These are formal
presentations of the work completed while conducting their science fair
project. Original work is encouraged. A lecture demonstration is scored
primarily on the student’s presentation, knowledge of subject material,
and answers to the judges’ questions.
